Creating a new question pool

To create a new question pool with questions from the question bank, select the Add a question pool option in the Add... menu.

Adding questions to the new question pool takes you to new page. Below are the points of interest on the page.

1. Back button. Returns you to the question list.
2. Topic filter. Open this panel to filter the question list by topics assigned to the questions when they are authored.
3. Question type filter. Open this panel to filter the question list by the type of question.
4. Keyword filter. Enter a keyword or phrase to filter the question list.
5. Question list. Questions matching the filter conditions are displayed as a list. Click the Add button on the question to add it to the question pool.
6. Pool settings panel. Button to open/close the question pool settings panel.
7. Question pool name. Field to enter the name of the question pool. This name shows up in the question list.
8. Number of questions. Once questions are added to the pool, enter the number of questions selected from this pool to be included in a student's quiz.
9. Pool questions list. As questions are selected from the question list they will be added here.

Once you add questions and set the number of questions to use from the pool, click on the back arrow to return to the question list. Your new pool will appear in the question list.

Creating a question pool from existing questions

If you want to create a question pool from questions already in the question list, select the questions, and a new set of options appears above the question list.

Select the option Move to Pool and a menu will appear that will list available pools in the assignment, and an option to create a new pool with the selected questions.

Selecting the option to create a new pool will show a new menu where you can give the pool a title, set the number of questions assigned from the pool, and the points that will be assigned for each question in the pool.

After filling out the menu, you will see your new question pool in the question list.

Editing a question pool settings

You can edit the questions included in the pool or the number of questions selected from the pool in the three-dot menu on the right side of the question pool title.

Editing the pool will bring to the add questions screen where you can add new questions or remove existing ones. You can also change the number of questions assigned or change the title of the pool on this screen as well.

Selectin the option to change the questions assigned brings up a menu with the option to only change the number of questions assigned from the pool.

Moving questions into a question pool

To move additional questions into an existing question pool, select the questions in the assignment.

Click on the Move to Pool button and then select the question pool from the menu, and the question will be moved to that pool.

Moving questions out of question pool

To remove a question from a pool, use the three-dot menu for a question in the pool, and select the option to Move out of pool.

The selected question will be moved just above the question pool in the question list. A green Updated pill will show up letting you know what items have changed within the question list.
