Subscribe to Labflow due dates from your personal calendar

You have the option to add your due dates from Labflow into your personal calendar service that you use. Any calendar application that allows you to subscribe using a URL should work. We have specifically tested using Google and Apple calendars as they are two of the most popular calendar applications. There are a couple of important things to remember when you add an external calendar to a calendar application:

  1. Updates are not immediate! Calendar applications like Google or Apple Calendars will automatically refresh the dates of an external calendar on a set schedule. For Apple, this schedule is configurable. For Google, the auto-refresh happens once a day. What this means is that if your instructor changes any dates within your Labflow course, those changes will not appear on your calendar application right away.
  2. You need to manage options within your calendar application. Once you add the external calendar, you will be able to configure how the Labflow calendar appears and how notifications will be treated. Make sure you view the settings once you add the Labflow calendar and get is configured the way you want it to work.

Below are the instructions to add the Labflow calendar to your personal Apple or Google calendar. If you use a different calendar application, you will want to look for the option to subscribe to an iCal calendar using an URL.

Copy your calendar URL

Click the ADD TO MY CALENDAR button found in the profile menu in the bottom-left corner.

A pop-up window will appear after you click on the ADD TO MY CALENDAR button. A URL for your Labflow calendar feed will appear in the pop-up window.

In your calendar application of choice (Apple, Google, or another calendar service) you will use this URL when adding a new calendar.

Apple Calendar

In your Apple calendar, select the option to add a New Calendar Subscription.

Paste the URL you copied in Labflow, and Subscribe to the calendar.

You will have some options available after you subscribe to the calendar. We highly recommend changing the Auto-refresh frequency to Every Day so any changes your instructor makes will be updated in your Apple calendar within a day.

Google Calendar

In your Google calendar, select the From URL option in the Other calendars menu.

Paste in the URL from Labflow and click Add Calendar. Google calendars will auto-refresh once a day, so any changes to the dates in your course will be reflected in your Google calendar within a day.
